Nikki Corvette, The LIttle Girls, Kim Shattock, Ronnie Spector to headline Girls Got Rhythm Fest in St. Paul
Ronnie Spector, Nikki Corvette and Kim Shattock lead the slate of lady rockers to play at the first annual Girls Got Rhythm Fest in St. Paul,
Minnesota on May 11-12, 2012.
The two-day festival is the brainchild of Dana Raidt, Editor of METRO
magazine, host of the Girl Gems radio show and Travis Ramin, the
co-founder of Ramo Records. Raidt says the pair had been looking to create a unique event together: “Over the summer we were talking about ways we could collaborate, and Travis brought up the idea of organizing a festival of mainly female artists. We started putting together a lineup and it all sort of came together.”
Raidt says she and Ramin hope to make this an annual show.
Spector, one of rock’s most influential girl-group leaders headlines the
showcase of female-led acts from around the world, which also features
Detroit alt-rock queen Nikki Corvette, Southern California new-wavers The Little Girls and Kim Shattock (with The Muffs), Japanese stars the 5, 6, 7, 8s and Twin Cities favorites L’Assassins.
