The podcast for our 2/19/10 Revenge of the 80s Radio show is up and available at the end of this post. This week, we talk with Mary Buffett, the investment and management leader, speaker and author. While she is famous on the financial media circuit, Mary also had a hit EP and video while working with the legendary Moby Dick indie record company. Our conversation is in the second segment of Hour 2.

Mary Buffett is perhaps best known for her many books on investing and management strategy, having learned from a mentor like former father-in-law Warren Buffett. She and co-author David Clark wrote several books on the wisdom of the Oracle of Omaha. Classic Alternative music fans might remember her hit single, a cover of “My Boyfriend’s Back,” and her EP of the same name while with Moby Dick Records — which also produced the likes of Yvonne Elliman, Lisa, The Immortals and the Boys Town Gang.

During our conversation, Mary Buffett talks about:

In addition to her EP and current fame, Mary Buffett managed acts, she was a record company executive and did projects with several other musicians (including one called Tokyo Calls For Aid with Andy Prieboy. Many of Mary Buffett’s readers of her books may be surprised to hear about her eclectic career and many talents. In watching some of her interviews and videos on Youtube, one could see that she utilizes those skills she honed as a performer and music executive quite keenly.
