This week, we welcome Alan Anton, bassist and founding member of the Cowboy Junkies. They are touring the US again and will be in the tri-state area, including a stop at the legendary Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY (May 8th). Our conversation will take place in the second hour of the show.

Anton and I will discuss the beginnings of the band, as he and Micheal Timmins had several projects together from their school days through the current band with Peter and Margo Timmins. We will also talk about the recording of their first successful album, The Trinity Session, which was pretty shockingly low-budget for its quality and significance to the band’s overall mystique. We will also get Anton’s thoughts on touring and upcoming new music by the Cowboy Junkies.

We will also play classic alternative music form artists including The Clash, The Communards, Devo and The Damned.
