The World Premiere of Louise Robey‘s “A Woman Scorned” will be this coming Friday night on Revenge of the 80s Radio.
Robey was recently a guest at the Chiller Theater Expo in Parsippany, New Jersey, where we discussed her recent studio work, upcoming anthology album and took pictures with Pumpkin, the official WienerDog of Revenge of the 80s Radio. We are honored to be the first radio program to bring this new single to you.
According to Robey, this is the first version of “A Woman Scorned” as a final edit will appear in the coming album. It is a solid dance track where Louise belts out the lyrics with remarkable vigor over an impressive dance-beat arrangement mixed by her producers. This song has the potential to return Robey to the dance charts she impacted in the 1980s with hits like “One Night in Bangkok” and “Paris Paree.”
Not only is this a certain smash clubbers can move to, it is also a true showcase of Robey’s wide (and underused in the 80s) vocal range. From a forceful tone translating the feeling of w real scorned woman to her alluring Indian chants strategically placed within the piece to add to it a dreamy dimension, separating “A Woman Scorned” from the regular club fare.
In addition to the single and the anthology, Louise Robey and her team told me over the weekend that there will be more exciting things in store for her fans, including an August 2010 reunion of the cast of Friday the 13th – The Series in Dallas, Texas. You will hear about more Louise Robey news as it happens on Revenge of the 80s Radio and this website.
