This week’s show will be highlighted by the World Premiere of Louise Robey‘s new single: “A Woman Scorned.” The talented singer, model and actress topped the U.S. Dance Charts in the 80s with songs like “One Night in Bangkok” and “Paris Paree.” Among her acting credits is the part of Micki Foster, the female lead on Friday the 13th – the Series.

Robey has been working hard in the recording studio these days, recording both solo tracks and working with a reformation of her late 1970s band, Louise and the Creeps. Her anthology is in the works.

“A Woman Scorned” is a lively dance track featuring Robey’s fantastic vocal range (something that was not done enough in the 1980s) and looks like a potential smash in the dance club scene. A review of the single can be found here.

We will also play cuts from artists of the classic alternative era including The Little Girls, ABC, Cowboy Junkies and Strange Advance. We will also play a track from Holly Beth Vincent‘s excellent brand new album Minnesota, California.

Revenge of the 80s airs live on Friday nights 7-9ET on Q99.1FM in the Hudson Valley (www.wtbq.com); on Wednesdays 12noon Melbourne, AUS time on Radio 80s 87.6FM; Weekday mornings 7-9am AUS time on Seymour FM; Wednesday nights 6-8pm (Eastern US) and Saturdays 7-9pm on The Volt radio (Canada). Podcasts are available on Saturdays after the live show.
