This week on Revenge of the 80s, we will feature a conversation with Kevin Rowland, the leader of Dexy’s, who recently reformed and released the new album, ONE DAY I’M GOING TO SOAR.

This week, we re-broadcast our March interview with trombone player “Big Jim” Paterson of Dexy’s. We talked with Jim shortly after the band released its latest album, which has recently been made available in the U.S. Our discussion leads off Hour 2 of the show.

Longtime ska musician Andy Keys Clark conveys his longtime admiration for classic rock and soul band Dexy’s Midnight Runners with “When Dexy’s Ruled the World,” a tribute single from his new album, The Prophecy.

This week, we feature a new song from ska artist Andy Keys Clark, who pays homage to one of the most inspirational and unique bands of the 1980s, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, with the single, “When Dexy’s Ruled the World.”

An interesting story recently came out in the British News Site Expressansstar.com, chronicling original Dexy’s Midnight Runners Bassist Pete Williams’ effort to help keep his childhood swimming hole, the Cossley Baths near his then home in Whiteheath, alive.

Revenge of the 80s kicks off May with music of the spring — or at least what makes me think of the spring. We will feature classic alternative tracks and deeper cuts from artists including Stan Ridgway, Icehouse, Nena, Voice of the Beehive and Dexy’s Midnight Runners.

This week, we featured classic alternative tracks from Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Tuxedomoon, REM and The Clash with deeper cuts from Falco, Laibach and Men Without Hats
