Tonight on Revenge of the 80s Radio, we will honor the legendary Michael Hutchence, who would have celebrated his 50th birthday today had it not been for his tragic death in 1997.

We wanted to kick off 2010 with something different, so we celebrated with two previously unreleased songs from August Darnell, better known as Kid Creole.

Following up on her brilliantly-elegant TAG album, Kid Creole and the Coconuts Co-Founder Adriana Kaegi captivates us once again with her stunning “I’ve Been Going Out.”

This week, we feature memorable 80s party songs during the first hour and top classic alternative dance tracks during the second hour

Tonight, we will play those classic club and college party favorites of the era through the entire second hour of the show.

Tonight’s Revenge of the 80s Radio features a conversation with Dave Wakeling of the English Beat and General Public. He is currently on tour and expects to release new music early next year. Our discussion will play during the second hour of the show

Louise Robey, known as singer and actress “Robey” in the 80s, will be back for another visit on Revenge of the 80s Radio this week. She will be at the 2009 Chiller Theatre Expo at the Hilton in Parsippany, New Jersey for Halloween Weekend.

This week’s Revenge of the 80s Radio show features classic alternative music from artists including XTC, Icehouse, The Untouchables, Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush, The Motels, Romeo Void and Voice of the Beehive. We will also play new tracks from The Little Girls and Gorevette.

Revenge of the 80s Radio welcomes new affiliate Seymour FM in Seymour, Victoria, Australia.

This week’s show featured great driving music of the 1980s. Artists featured in this weeks show include Men Without Hats, The Kings, Pearl Harbor and the Explosions and Nikki and the Corvettes. We also played new cuts from Josie Cotton, ABC and Stan Ridgway with Pietra Wexstun.

This week’s Revenge of the 80s will be packed with some of the nest driving music of the 1980s. Artists featured include The Little Girls, Nikki and the Corvettes, The Kings and Jason and the Scorchers.

While I am out on vacation this week, we will rebroadcast our 1/9/09 show featuring a conversation with Nikki Corvette on the band she recently formed with Amy Gore (The Gore Gore Girls), Gorevette. We will also have some of the first tracks they recorded on the show.

Tonight’s Revenge of the 80s will feature classic alternative artists of our decade covering music of the late 60s and very early 70s — the musical era of the “Woodstock Generation.”

This week we focused on geography and world travel as all of our classic alternative tracks played are about places around the world, points of interest and some fictional areas. Artists featured include Louise Robey, The Clash, Strawberry Switchblade, Red Rockers and Missing Persons.

This week, we catch up on some requests during our first hour. The second hour is dedicated to classic alternative dance music from the 80s from artists including Clan of Xymox, Grandmaster Flash, Amazulu and Strawberry Switchblade.

This week, Revenge of the 80s will rebroadcast our “Salute to Movie Soundtracks.” Featured artists include Trio, Cheap Trick, Fishbone with Annette Funicello and the Bone Symphony.

This week on Revenge of the 80s, we want to say “Happy Birthday” to Terri Nunn who will be celebrating tonight in concert at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago with Berlin and the Regeneration Tour. We will play a classic Berlin track in her honor. We will also pay tribute to Michael Jackson who, although was a more mainstream artist than normally featured here, transcended the restrictions of genre.
