This week on Revenge of the 80s Radio, Toni Basil talks with Chris about her Zoom online dance classes. Yes, you can learn 60s-era dance moves from Basil, who Quentin Tarantino calls “The Goddess of Go-Go,” by signing up for her Sunday, August 2nd online class through Toni’s website: tonibasil.net. This is the last in her most recent series, but Toni says there will be more to come. Last week’s session featured a dance tribute to James Brown; this week’s will feature a salute to Tina Turner

Also, Toni recorded new versions of “Hey, Mickey” and “Shoppin’ A to Z.”

During our conversation, Toni talks about the dances she will be teaching in the Zoom classes; we look back at when her singing, dancing, acting and choreography career; we discuss her work in the ’60s with movies, dance and music legends, her acting roles including a major part in “Easy Rider,” dancing as an original member of The Lockers, music video choreography, movie choreography (including the 2019 Tarantino blockbuster “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and, of course, dance.
