Original Dexy’s Member Pens Song to Help Save Childhood Swimming Pool

An interesting story recently came out in the British News Site Expressansstar.com, chronicling original Dexy’s Midnight Runners Bassist Pete Williams‘ effort to help keep his childhood swimming hole, the Cosley Baths near his then home in Whiteheath, alive.

According to the report, the community pool area is to be condemned and destroyed after this summer against the residents’ wishes. Activist leaders informed Williams of what was going on and he wrote a protest song to help their effort. He played the song at a rally on August 31st.

Speaking of Dexy’s Midnight Runners, for some time Kevin Rowland’s official MySpace page has been teasing the potential of new tracks from him and a more current Dexy’s lineup. While this has yet to become a reality, but he has been active and his profile indicates some good news we at Revenge of the 80s Radio will investigate:
