Revenge of the 80s is giving away two pairs of tickets to see Missing Persons, Gene Loves Jezebel and Tommy Tutone at BB King’s Blues Bar and Grill at 237 West 42nd Street in New York City (Times Square) on March 15th. The concert is part of the Club 80s Tour. This will be the first in a series of ticket giveaways to classic alternative artists’ concerts. Details on the contest are further into this post.
For your chance to win tickets, please answer the following trivia question:
Who did Dale Bozzio sing for as a backing vocalist pre-Missing Persons?
- a. Dr. Buzzard
- b. Dr. Hook
- c. Frank Zappa
- d. Barry Manilow
Send your answers to the questions along with your name, address and e-mail address to our contest e-mail box: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will pick two winners at random from entries with the correct answer to this question. Those winners will be on a list to enter at the door. Please submit your answers by 11:59pm on Saturday, March 13th; the winner will be selected on Sunday, March 14th and posted on this website.
Dale’s Bozzio’s quirky voice and heavy makeup made Missing Persons a favorite on MTV in the early 1980s. The singles “Mental Hopscotch,” “Destination Unknown,” “Words,” “Walking in L.A.,” and “Windows” remain 80’s favorites. Gene Loves Jezebel scored big club hits with “Desire”, “Heartache” and “Motion of Love.” Tommy Tutone is best known for “867-5309/Jenny,” which peaked at #4 on the Hot 100.
Tickets are first-com, first serve: $19.80 in advance, $25 at the door. VIP booths for four are also available for $160 (4 people) and $240 (6 people). All artists will do a “meet and greet” after the show.
More information on the concert can be found on the B.B. King Blues Bar and Grill website.
Thank you for being a part of Revenge of the 80s Radio and good luck.
