Terri Nunn, Martha Davis Podcast Coming In May

Written by on April 28, 2010

During Terri Nunn‘s first appearance on Revenge of the 80s, we discussed her acumen for talk radio, as she expressed interest in getting into the field. As a 15 year talk radio veteran, I thought she would be an energetic new voice, given the chance by a program director who dares stray from the formulaic — a category that encompasses most local and syndicated talkers. In addition, Martha Davis and I recently completed a spirited conversation about political correctness and the state of children’s entertainment. Now, Nunn and Davis have teamed up with the multi-talented Gaye Ann Bruno to host a new podcast talk show: Between the Sheets.

The potential of Between the Sheets is carried not only by the intelligence,m energy and speaking abilities of these three ladies, but they all can rock as well. By that, I mean Davis, Nunn and Bruno may be able to introduce a new kind of talk show which, as indicated by the initial social network promotion of the show, seems to be a semi issue-oriented program with a hint of hot talk and humor. In 2008, Nunn offered her vision of a talk radio show was to not only discuss the harder issues, but offer subjects that are non-political, yet engaging like a more listener-friendly water cooler conversation. In an era where left-of-center talk radio has been an utter failure for the most part (and this is based on talent rather than content) in comparison to their more conservative brethren, Nunn, Davis and Bruno have the opportunity to engage not only talk fans, but those who have strayed from radio’s talk spectrum, generic morning show banter and DJs’ card-reads.

Between the Sheets will start in May on the Hot Talk LA podcast website.
