Terri Nunn, Martha Davis, Billy Zoom Record With Slick BP Spill Relief Track

Written by on July 28, 2010

Rock Legend Grace Slick recently announced at the Grammy Museum the recording of a new song written with Michelle Mangione to raise relief money in the aftermath of the BP oil disaster for Louisiana fishermen, musicians and their families whose livelihoods have suffered.

While BP did make a profit and has sent their former CEO, Tony Heyward, to “Oil Business Siberia,” there is still the big mess in the ocean and the overall economic landscape of the Gulf Coast.

Slick said in the announcement that the song, titled “The Edge of Madness,” is projected from the point of view of the people who were affected by the catastrophe.

Classic alternative music fans will be interested to know that Terri Nunn, Martha Davis and Billy Zoom are also featured performers in Slick’s song.

The song will be available on the Grammy Museum’s website and all proceeds from the track will go to The Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Gulf Oil Spill Fund and the MusiCares Foundation.
