Super ska artist pays tribute to Dexy’s Midnight Runners with new single

Longtime ska musician Andy Keys Clark conveys his longtime admiration for classic rock and soul band Dexy’s Midnight Runners with “When Dexy’s Ruled the World,” a tribute single from his new album, The Prophecy.

Clark, who currently fronts his own project and works with Los Angeles-based band The Hoodlum Pharaohs, said in a recent appearance on Revenge of the 80s Radio that Dexy’s Midnight Runners inspired him from a young age after he bought a copy of “Dance Stance,” the group’s first single: “…to hear a singer with such passion and energy in a record was just great, and that horn section that Dexy’s had just blew me away.”
