Concrete Blonde releases new single; videos, eastern US tour coming

Written by on November 14, 2012

L.A. punk pioneers Concrete Blonde will introduce a new single in conjunction with an east coast December tour. “Rosalee” and “I See the Ghost” will be available as both a download and a seven-inch white vinyl record.

“Rosalee” is a country ballad sung about a lonely cowboy longing for his lady, heavily reflecting singer Johnette Napolitano’s desert surroundings near her home. The B-side track, “I See the Ghost” is a more vintage Concrete Blonde syncopated punk song referencing spiritual influences. Napolitano emphasizes that aspect of the cut’s message: “It’s about people who think they can get away with things, who try to fake their way through life . . . [who think] that they’re always being watched”

Both tracks were recorded and produced at Stagg Street Studios in Van Nuys, CA with the band’s long-time engineer Anne Catalino.
