Tonight’s Revenge of the 80s Radio Show features former Wall of Voodoo singer Andy Prieboy, who joined the band before they released their Seven Days in Sammystown album in 1985. Prieboy is in the process of releasing some new material, including “Shine (Red Bead Follows Blue),” a version of which we premiered last week on Revenge of the 80s; the second one will play tonight. Both variations of the song feature Stan Ridgway on harmonica.
During our conversation, Andy talks about how his varied musical influences came together to form his own style of song writing and performance. All of which contributed to his interestingly diverse career as a leader of two very different bands, a solo artist, a novelist, a playwright and a creator. We also talk about the stories behind some of his greatest work. Our discussion was interesting, moving at times and quite thought-provoking; the interview leads off the second hour of the show.
We will also feature music from other great artists of the era during the first ohur including The Damned, Madness, The Flirts and Blondie.

Revenge of the 80s Radio airs live every Friday night 7-9pm on Q99.1FM in the Hudson Valley, NY and on www.revengeofthe80sradio.com; Wednesdays 12noon Melbourne, Australia time on 87.6FM “Radio 80s” in Korumburra, AUS and our podcast will be available on Saturday.

It seems that the stream from our flagship affiliate is experiencing some difficulty, but I do have reports of it working. I apologize for the inconvenience, and the podcast will be up as quickly as possible on Saturday morning.

    Best,

    Chris
