Yes, you are reading this post correctly — THAT Mary Buffett, the investment and management expert and author, who will be on Revenge of the 80s Radio tonight. We will not, however, be talking about derivatives, stocks, bonds or managing a business. Our conversation centers around Mary’s music career, which is remembered most through her EP My Boyfriend’s Back and her version of the title track.

Having been an executive in the record industry for some time and a band manager, Mary Buffett (who was married to legendary financier Warren Buffet’s son, Peter) found Moby Dick Records, which became a legendary independent record label of the time featuring acts such as Lisa, Patric Conley, Yvonne Elliman and The Immortals. She recorded the EP and her cover of “My Boyfriend’s Back” was an instant hit.

During our conversation, Mary will discuss the making of the song and will talk about the story of Moby Dick Records as well as her time in the music business. Our interview will take place during the second segment of Hour 2.
