Shane MacGowan & Friends Help Haiti With New Song

With a rather interesting single Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan and some good friends in the music world recorded a benefit single to help relief efforts in Haiti.

The song, a cover of the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins hit “I Put a Spell On You” is available for download on Amzaon.

Helping MacGowan with the track are Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Glen Matlock, Chrissie Hynde, Paloma Faith and Eliza Doolittle on vocals. Mick Jones, James Walbourne and Johnny Depp on guitars; Cait O’Riordan on bass and Carwyn Ellis on keyboards.

The money will go to Concern Worldwide, which is offering help to the victims of January’s devastating earthquake and its aftermath. More details can be found on the Pogues’ official website.
