Tonight’s Revenge of the 80s Radio show will feature a conversation with Tony Kinman, former bassist for the legendary punk band The Dils, Rank and File, Blackbird and currently with Los Trendy. We discuss the San Francisco punk scene of mid to late 70s, its place in music history and influence on alternative music in the 80s. We also discuss The Dils, Kinman’s career and his new project, Los Trendy. We play two classic Dils tracks, a piece from Los Trendy and a song from Eye Protection, Andy Prieboy‘s San Francisco punk band — recently re-mixed by Prieboy. The interview kicks off the second hour of the show.

During the first hour, we will play some music from The Cramps in honor of Lux Interior‘s passing earlier this week.

We will also play cuts from other classic alternative artists including Strawberry Switchblade, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, The Undertones and Berlin.

Revenge of the 80s airs live on Friday nights 7-9ET on Q99.1FM in the Hudson Valley (www.wtbq.com) and on Wednesdays 12noon Melbourne, AUS time on Radio 80s 87.6FM. Podcasts are available on Saturdays after the live show.
